This Africa by Boledi P Mampana

POEM: This Africa

A poem by Boledi P Mampana

BY BOLEDI P MAMPANA

You and I know the feeling when the whole world knows your sad history
Like a door flown open as if pushed by a strong wind
We never judged ourselves
Africa has a dream
Let it be beautiful
We have the past
Why should we go back there?
When I think of Africa dreaming
I can put millions of reasons down on paper
You and I know the feeling
We should be crying but no
We breathe in and out and keep working hard
Lightening the burden of one another.
